Lionel SEGARD is the former Chief Executive Officer of Inserm-Transfert, a subsidiary of INSERM. Inserm Transfert in partnership with INSERM, contributes to the technology transfer between research and industry, through company creation, facilitating the development INSERM's innovative technologies and offering new entrepreneurial opportunities to researchers.

He is a biochemist by training (University of South Paris - Orsay). He launched in 1999 with Michel LEPERS Eurobiobiz and was a partner until he joined Inserm-Transfert. Eurobiobiz has participated in the creation and development of more than 25 European biotechnology companies via its various programs including the Biobiz business planning workshops which are sponsored by the European Commission.

Previously, he worked as a scientist at IBM and managed several international companies including TFSM France, subsidiary of a publicly traded company (NASDAQ : TFSM)

He has also created and managed IET, a training company and the French Diplomatic Agency (AFDEP) – this company develops communication-tools on behalf of the French Embassies.
Lionel SEGARD is a founder of the Strategic Council for Innovation (secretary general from 2003 to 2005). The Council's goal is to boost French efforts in the field of research and high technologies and included key figures from France's science, industry and financial community.
